WIP Fitness Gym Case Study
WIP Fitness's Story
I have been passionate about fitness since I was at school but it really all started around 10 years ago. I had been discussing with a friend whilst travelling in Prague about setting up our own gym. Things didn’t go to plan as I pursued another business whilst he set up his own gym. Fast forward those 10 years and a local unit became available and all the cards fell into place. This coincided with my sister unfortunately being made redundant but meant I had the help I needed whilst setting up WIP fitness.
Getting the unit happened quite quickly before we had all the work to commence for our design ideas. 6 months later we opened and everything is doing well. Given the amount of work we needed to do in order for us to get the unit to the standard we wanted with the budget we had we knew it would take a long time.
We wanted the unit to look our way and to showcase the right atmosphere and we confidently say we have achieved that. Put the hours in and you will get it done eventually. Hard work really does pay off. Strength and conditioning along with fitness is always evolving.
We predominantly do a lot of functional fitness and WOD style training along with circuits. CrossFit has certainly helped increase the popularity of this along whilst people want to change their training to do intense workouts as oppose to standard bodybuilding routines.
There are a lot of gyms in the area so we want to establish our niche and program things differently.
