Cable Racks & Functional Trainers
Cable Racks & Functional Trainers
A cable rack puts a power rack and a cable system in one frame, so you can squat and press in the rack, then switch to rows, pulldowns, flyes and single-arm work without moving to another machine. It's the most complete strength station you can fit in a home or studio gym.

How to choose
- Want everything in one footprint? The Rival Functional Trainer Power Rack gives you a rack and twin stacks.
- Need more room to train in the rack? The Rival Rear Functional Trainer keeps the cables in a separate rear bay.
- Short on floor space? The Rival Wall-Mounted Cable Rack is only 629mm deep.
- Mainly want pulldowns and rows? The Rival Lat/Row Power Rack, or the Evolution Lat/Row Attachment if you already have an Evolution rack.

Cable Rack FAQs
What is a functional trainer?
A cable machine with two adjustable pulleys, usually each with its own weight stack, so you can train one or both arms through almost any angle. Our Rival functional trainers build this into a power rack.
What does a 2:1 cable ratio mean?
The load at the handle is half the stack weight, and the cable travels twice as far. On the Rival Wall-Mounted Cable Rack each 4.5kg plate adds 2.25kg at the handle, which suits single-arm work and smaller muscles.
Do cable racks need bolting down?
Some do. The Rival Rear Functional Trainer Rack must be bolted to a solid floor, and the Wall-Mounted Cable Rack is fixed to the wall. Each product page says what fixings you need.
How much ceiling height do I need?
The Rival cable racks are around 2210mm high. Allow extra clearance for assembly, and for pull-ups if you use the bar.
Can I add cables to my existing rack?
Yes, for Evolution racks with the Evolution Lat/Row Attachment, or by standing a cable tower beside any rack. Ask us on chat if you're unsure what fits.
