New to Again Faster – A Stainless Steel Powerlifting Barbell and a Premium Olympic Barbell

We're excited to announce the launch of two new premium Barbells to our range this week: the Stainless Steel Power Barbell, a must-have powerlifting bar; and the Competition Barbell, which offers another step up in lifting performance from our popular Evolution and Team Barbells.

The Power Bar is exactly the right bar if you're looking to take things to the next level with your squats, deadlifts, and bench press. The Competition Bar, on the other hand, is tailor-made to offer exactly what you need on the Olympic weightlifting movements, so could be the perfect bar to improve your PRs on the clean and jerk or snatch.

At Again Faster, we understand that a quality bar is a big investment for home gyms and commercial facilities alike. So, when we designed these bars, efforts were taken to ensure quality, durability, and a bar that performs to the highest standard time after time.

Why are we so excited about these new bars? Read on to learn about the unique, premium features these barbells offer.

The Again Faster Competition Weightlifting Barbell – Stand-out Features

We have the Evolution Barbell and the Team Barbell in our range already and, don't get us wrong, these are outstanding bars that have been impressing customers for years now. But we've been working behind the scenes on something extra special, a premium barbell to offer that next step up in performance.

The Finish

The Competition Barbell features a hard chrome finish, a premium option. This is more hard-wearing and less oxidising than alternative finishes you find on other barbells. As a result, hard chrome bars have a better feel and are more resistant to rust and corrosion than many other types. That means lower maintenance and less time spent on constant barbell upkeep.

The Lifting Experience

Our Competition Barbell has the two key features you want in a bar specially made for Olympic lifts. The steel used gives a forgiving amount of whip, but is of such a high quality that you don't need to worry about bending the bar. Though the real beauty of this bar is provided by its 10 needle bearings and 2 stainless steel bushings. This gives an outstanding spin to the sleeves, which can really make the difference when looking to smash those clean and jerk or snatch PRs. This construction also gives an extra-smooth turn-over during your lifts.

Other Great Features

This really is one of the most versatile, premium-quality bars out there. It features centre knurling, for extra grip during squats, a feature not often seen on Olympic bars. You can also load it with up to 680kg of weight, so it will handle heavy lifts without issue. A medium-aggressive knurl strikes the perfect balance between offering something grippy for heavier lifts, while forgiving on the hands for high-rep workouts. Ribbed sleeves also prevent your plates from slipping during your lifts. In short, the Competition Bar is perfect for Olympic lifts and offers excellent performance for other styles of lift too.

The Again Faster Stainless Steel Power Barbell – Stand-out Features

We're really excited about this one; as soon as we got our hands on it for the first time, we could immediately feel the quality of the Power Barbell. Seriously, this bar is a thing of beauty.

The Finish

The finish on the Power Barbell is stainless steel. There are no two ways about it, nothing beats the look and feel of a steel bar for lifting. This is why it's the preferred finish for premium bars all over the world. What's more, stainless steel is probably the lowest maintenance finish available for a bar, meaning it's much less prone to rusting and corrosion. You can say goodbye to the endless inconvenience of constant bar maintenance when choosing stainless steel, making it a great shout for the sweaty, humid atmospheres of many gyms in the UK. This also makes it perfect for home gyms, especially those in garages or outhouses where the battle between damp and your prized gym equipment is fought daily.

The Lifting Experience

A proper powerlifting bar, it features bushing sleeves to offer a slow but butter-smooth and consistent spin. A slower spin is essential for smashing PRs on powerlifting movements. Also, like any quality powerlifting bar, it has a stiffer feel with minimal whip which, combined with its staggering max load capacity of 680kg (1500lbs), makes it the perfect bar for lifting heavy.

Other Great Features

Our Power Bar features a more aggressive knurl, essential for getting a firm grip for powerlifting. However, when designing this bar, efforts were taken to make sure the knurl isn't super aggressive. Powerlifting bars are notorious for having shark-tooth knurls that make repeating lifts a painful chore. The bar also features centre knurling, an essential feature for giving you extra grip when squatting. Smooth sleeves are used for this bar for the easy loading of heavy weights.
