Our Gym Flooring Tiles in Action

Gym Flooring FAQs

  • How much does gym flooring cost?

The cost of gym flooring depends on several factors such as the amount of flooring needed for the facility, the size of each flooring tile, the thickness of each flooring tile. For a specific gym flooring quote please fill out the form above or you can email us via [email protected].

  • Why is gym flooring important?

In a commercial setting, anyone looking to train will walk into your gym and the flooring will be one of the first things they notice. The initial impact is smell (good quality flooring is odourless) and then we progress to more technical demands like the bounce height of the barbell. Regardless of whether you are in a commercial space or home gym, the right flooring will protect your investment by making the equipment last longer and protect your floor underneath.

  • What are your gym flooring delivery costs?

Our delivery charges for mainland UK are fixed - shipping costs for up to 30kg is £5.95 and shipping charges for 31kg and over is £9.95. For more shipping information, please see our shipping & returns page. For gym fit-outs or refurbs, the cost of shipping flooring will be part of your shipping costs in your final quote.

  • How thick does gym flooring have to be?

The minimum thickness flooring tile we recommend for any type of gym environment is 20mm.

Of course, the recommendation for a gym flooring tile is dependent on the type of gym facility the flooring tiles would be used for, the amount of weight being dropped on the floor, the amount of drops expected and the sheer volume of weight on a day by day basis. For example, garage gym flooring requirements that are used only a few times per week for light dumbbell or kettlebell work would not need the same flooring thickness as an affiliate gym with repeated heavy drops day after day. For more guidance on gym flooring please fill out the form above or contact us via [email protected].

  • How thick does a home gym flooring have to be?

We recommend tiles for home gym flooring or garage gym flooring to be 20mm in thickness and enough tiles to cover any areas you will be training. 20mm thick gym flooring will give an all-around tile, with very good sound/vibration absorption, excellent rebound control whilst remaining resistant to harm, easy to clean, easy to install and cut. This flooring tile thickness will cover your bases by protecting the flooring underneath and being suitable to withstand any barbell drops.

  • Why do I need good quality gym flooring?

The cheapest flooring option can turn into the most expensive one after 2-3 years when the tiles and equipment may need replacing, any potential construction work on the cement floor and complaints from gym-goers whilst the repairs take place. If we are talking about your home gym then damage to your property can come at a huge cost. This is why is very important to plan and choose the best flooring quality and thickness. It saves time, money and stress!

  • Why do you not have more gym flooring tiles on your website?

We have a limited selection of flooring tiles on our website as the majority of our gym tiles are made to order and made to a gym's individual needs. The gym flooring on the website are easier to buy in smaller quantities and suitable for smaller purchases such as the flooring for a home gym or garage gym flooring. The gym flooring options on our website are available here.

  • Which gym flooring is best for me?

The best gym flooring option for you is dependent on your situation and the type of gym that you have. For a smaller facility or one not used as frequently, 20mm flooring tiles should suffice. Heavy-duty facility's or large commercial environments would be advised for a thicker flooring tile. To discuss your individual needs complete the form above or contact us via [email protected].

  • How to clean rubber gym floor?

Rubber gym flooring is very easy to clean and one of the reasons most commercial facilities use this type of flooring tile. To clean a rubber gym floor first of all vacuum all of the debris and dust to make mopping a lot easier. Following this, use a mop with a bucket of hot water and pH-neutral detergent. Following a vacuum the flooring may seem clean but more than likely will have a build up of dried sweat that will cause odours. There are many suitable detergents out there, however, if you have untested the detergent, do use on a small area first. If you are cleaning an area of your gym flooring whilst open, please use wet floor signs so members know an area may be slippy. We advise ensuring there is enough ventilation for the area to dry without a build-up of moisture in the facility. To prevent excessive cleaning, ensure you have a good mat upon entry to your facility which will cut down on the dirt being brought in.

  • Benefits of gym flooring?

?Having the right gym flooring for your facility makes a big difference in the longevity of your equipment by reducing the impact from drops and slams. You'll keep your equipment looking newer for longer and prevent scratches or damage to the flooring underneath. This is especially important if you don't own the building. One issue many gyms are unaware of are cleaning of the facilities. Rubber gym flooring isn't absorbent and therefore doesn't carry bacteria from sweat, whilst being very easy to clean. Gym flooring also benefits athletes and those using the facility as it will reduce impact from repeated movements whilst the rubber flooring is a grippy surface, less likely for people to slip.

  • Do I need gym flooring?

Whether you are deciding whether to buy flooring for a huge commercial facility or a small home gym, we always recommend some type of gym flooring to ensure you protect your floor, your equipment and yourself whilst training. Exercising or training athletes without gym flooring is dangerous with an increased risk of slipping, tripping and weights bouncing/ rolling away.
